Baseball Feels the Pinch for Green Space

The GW Club Baseball team will begin the 2014 NCBA season without a field to call home. Due to a lack of regulation baseball diamonds in Arlington, County and the District of Columbia, the GW Club Baseball team is searching for fields to play their home games on this season. Barcroft Park, home of GW's varsity baseball team, is also used by Arlington County varsity baseball teams, Babe Ruth Leagues, and Adult Baseball Leagues which are all affiliated with Arlington County. The team is actively searching in Alexandria, VA, Fairfax County, VA and Montgomery County, MD for three weekends of field space with the help of the Office of Campus Recreation. The team will begin play with games on the weekend of April 22 - 23.

The Men's Lacrosse club motto for this season was taken from President George Washington himself, "Deeds, not Words". This will be the attitude the team will embrace. They take on a tough schedule as they embark on their 2nd season in the highly competitive Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association. The team will head to Hood College in Frederick, MD to scrimmage against their varsity team on Sunday, February 16th.

Ice Hockey Looks to Capture ACC Hockey Championship

The GW Ice Hockey Club is having a fantastic 2013 - 14 season. They sit at 6 - 1 in the ACC Club Hockey League. The ACC Championships will be held at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD the weekend of February 14 - 16, 2014. The club is pictured above with the Wounded Warriors. Hosting a charity game with our US Vets has become a tradition for the club. The team raised $2510 for the Warriors program last spring!
